Christmas in a Nutshell

Ok ok, so I have been a terrible blogger. Time just flies and life has be so unbelievably busy lately. The more I don't blog the harder I find it to keep up with. ANYWAYS, christmas was so awesome. We spent christmas with his family who hadn't had a christmas with the entire family together for 7 years! Crazy. This was mostly due to at least one of the brothers being away on a church mission or Jordan's dad being in Africa for work. It was so fun to have everyone together and spend christmas in BANFF. Better yet, the in-laws surprised us with staying at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel (aka. the CASTLE). It has been an ongoing dream to stay there and I must say it didn't not live down its reputation once.

On christmas Eve we went out for dinner, played games, and explored the gigantic hotel. Christmas morning consisted of me waking Jordan up ridiculously early (something like 6 am) and exchanging gifts to one another and watching christmas cartoons. Later on we headed over to the parent's room for breakfast, gift opening, and more games. Every year Jordan's family plays an intense round of nerf guns and lets just say they do not take it easy on first timers! Well that went on for an hour or so until the guys got tired, and then we went out for a family walk. It was a beautiful day and it felt like we were right in the middle of the mountains. The rest of our afternoon was spent at the spa. Mineral pools, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms... lets just say we were VERY relaxed by the end of the day. Christmas dinner was DELLLISH. It was a buffet and so yummy! Boxing day we hit the slopes. We expected it to be super busy and freezing weather but instead it turned out to be sunny and really empty! There weren't any lines and I actually thought I could potentially get a google tan (yes, I think google tans are cool).

It was such a great first christmas as a married couple and so many great memories were made! we love banff, family & holidays!

Love,
Us.
