I KNOW I have been horrible at blogging lately. When Alana came to visit a couple weeks ago we took so many pictures that I was overwhelmed and didn't know where to begin! We had such an amazing time for the 5 days she was here. The weather wasn't perfect but we had a couple beautiful days and with a few layers it was fine! It was so nice to catch up and spend time with her. We kept busy by going exploring, munching on delicious cookies and tarts at our favourite bakery, hitting up the classic tourist spots, going to fishing towns, enjoying the farmers market and more. Here are some pictures from our adventures! miss her already
Just so happy to see this little nugget!
After Alana got in we walked around downtown St. John's while we waited for the guys to get off work and meet us for dinner. In the mean time we went to Rocket Bakery and devoured a lemon tart, gluten free chocolate chip cookie, and a slice of bread pudding. Nothing wrong with dessert before dinner right?
When everyone was finished we met at Piatto, an italian pizzaria similar to Famoso back home. It was really good and so fun to all be together. I ordered the prociutto arugua pizza my favourite.
Representing Vivint every where they go...
Love birds.
The next morning, Lindsay, Alana, and I went to the St. John's farmers market and then shopping on water street. The farmers market was really busy because it was opening day, but it was really fun and lots of free samples WOO. Alana and I bought newfoundland handmade wool hats for only 20$ which kept our ears warm from the cold wind that day. They had the pepsi/coke test to see if you could tell which was pepsi and which was coke but we all failed terribly (I really did think I was right...)
We were hoping the owners of this cute house didn't see this happening haha
Pretty sure we went into every souvineer shop downtown. Cute hat? Ok maybe not.
The famous chocolate mermaid outside the newfoundland chocolate company. Alana likes to keep us entertained.
Alana on George Street!
A tradition here is called getting "screeched-in" meaning taking a shot of alcohol and then kissing a raw fish on the lips. Glad this has never and will never happen to me haha.
Once again.
Out for lunch at..... ROCKET. yet again haha. It is just way too good! and addictive. Everything is gluten free, fresh, and homemade. I had quinoa and cucumber salad, with kale and potatoe soup. Deeeelish. Also, there was live newfoundland music playing while we ate our little lunches.
A funny wall we spotted in an alley downtown
More to come! xoxo
